Virtual Reception FAQ


Below are frequently asked questions and answers about our virtual reception service:

Q: In what countries is the virtual reception service available?
A: Puryear Logistics is based in the United States and all of our virtual receptionist employees are in the United States.  A majority of our clients are in the United States as well.  However, we are able to provide our services (and local phone numbers) to clients in almost every country.

Q: What will the virtual receptionist say when answering the phone?
A: You will be able to decide what the virtual receptionist says when answering the phone.

Q: How will I receive messages from the virtual reception service?
A: You can receive messages by email, through a secure website, by text message, iOS app, Android app, or by fax.

Q: How long does it take to receive a message from the virtual receptionist after they take a call?
A: About 1 minute or less.

Q: Will I be able to go back and view old messages?
A: Yes, using our secure web interface you can review old messages that have been sent to you.  You can also use our app (available for Apple and Android) to view old messages.

Q: Can the virtual receptionist ask questions of my choosing and provide the answers to me in the messages that I receive?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I receive virtual reception messages through multiple methods, such as receiving by both email and text message?
A: Yes, you can choose to receive your virtual reception messages by any combination of method(s) you wish.

Q: Can virtual reception messages be sent to multiple people at my business?
A: Yes, you can provide multiple email addresses, multiple cell phone numbers (for text messages), and/or multiple fax numbers.

Q: Is there an app that will allow me to access  my virtual reception  messages on my mobile phone?
A: Yes, we have apps for Apple and Android. There is also a mobile version of the secure message website that is easy to use on your mobile phone.  Additionally, you can also choose to receive messages by text message.

Q: What hours is the virtual reception service available?
A: Our virtual reception service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.

Q: Can I setup my existing phone numbers to forward unanswered calls to the virtual reception service?
A: Yes. Call forwarding is easy to setup, and more  information can be seen here.  After you signup for the virtual reception service, you will be given a phone number to which calls can be forwarded.  You can also just give out your virtual reception phone number.

Q: What area code will be used for my virtual reception phone number?
A: A phone number in your local area is almost certainly available, as are toll-free (800) phone numbers.

Q: How do I contact Puryear Logistics if I have questions or need help?

Q: I’m not the most technology-savvy person.  Is this a service that I can use?
A: Yes, our virtual reception service is about as simple as it gets and you do not need to be technology-savvy to use it.  If you can receive email, receive faxes, or receive text messages, or use a simple website, you can make full use of our virtual reception service.  Indeed, if you use the fax or text message option to receive messages from the virtual reception service, you don’t even need to use a computer at all.

Q: Is there any long-term commitment?
A: Not at all.  The virtual reception service is purchased a month at a time and you can cancel whenever you wish.

Q: How long will it take to get the virtual receptionist service setup?
A: Setup is both quick and easy, and generally takes place within 1 day.  We work with you to get everything up and running in a smooth and efficient manner.

Q: What is the difference between a “virtual reception service” and an “answering service”?
A: Traditional “answering services” would only take messages only, while a “virtual reception” service could take messages and transfer calls to you. That distinction is less relevant today, due to changes in technology. Our virtual reception service provides everything that a traditional “answering service” would provide and also the option to have calls transferred to you.

Q: What does the secure web interface that I can use to view my virtual reception messages look like?
A: It is a nice web interface that will work well on all of your devices, from your smart phone to a tablet to your laptop/desktop computer. Please see the following screen shots.
